The inaugural 2010 Sustainable Journalism Concept-2-Reality™ Competition was acknowledged with great enthusiasm by graduate and undergraduate students, alumni, and staff affiliated with the colleges and universities in the state of Georgia. Entrants were asked to submit an entry form along with a one page “Elevator Pitch” description of their concept for a new “journalistic” product or service. From those entries, semi-finalists were selected and asked to prepare a more detailed Executive Summary of their concept. 4 finalists have been selected and today will present their concepts to a panel of successful journalists, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and other new venture advisors.
The top 2 concepts will receive cash prizes of $1000 and $500.
We would like to thank each of the entrants for this years competition. We have seen many creative and innovative ideas that will surely result in a positive impact on the future of journalism. We would like to salute our 4 finalists, Fourth Estate Mobile, MyGreenATL.com, Online Credibility and Ethics Seal, and Visual Talking™.
