The mega-magazine publishers are developing online versions of their top titles. Time Inc, Hearst, Conde Nast, and Meredith are joining forces to develop and sell e-reader versions of Time, Sports Illustrated, and other magazines. As Mediaweek reports, it is not clear when the platform will launch. In the meantime, digital publisher Zinio is creating iPhone apps for The Economist, Popular Science, and Car and Driver. The industry is still trying to figure out how much it can charge for ads. –Ellen Miller
