Court rules for journalists and bloggers in Canada

The news media is hailing a new ruling from the Supreme Court of Canada that redefines “responsible journalism.”  The Court ruling appears to shield journalists from massive defamation and libel claims if they can prove they have taken every reasonable step to check on the veracity of information they report.  The Globe and Mail goes in depth to explain the legal issues and how they impact professional and amateur journalists.
